As a result of their ongoing collaboration, IWC and Mercedes-AMG have just released the automotive-inspired IWC x Mercedes-AMG Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG”. The two companies have partnered on limited editions since 2004, but this new release is the first Big Pilot’s watch with a titanium case, and the first to contain the IWC caliber 69385, an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement with 46 hours of power. The 43 mm case is made out of extremely light, scratch-resistant Grade 5 titanium that gives the timepiece a matte grey appearance which is inspired by AMG’s signature Selenite Grey Magno paint finish.

More automotive inspiration is seen in the face of the IWC x Mercedes-AMG Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG” that features a black carbon dial with silver chronograph subdials and woven carbon components like the ones used by AMG in its aero components. The Mercedes-AMG logo is emblazoned on the tinted sapphire crystal case back and the watch is accompanied by a black embossed calf leather strap with contrast stitching and a folding clasp. The new watch was released by IWC during a webcast between IWC’s CEO Christoph Grainger-Herr, Mercedes-AMG CEO Philipp Schiemer, and shared brand ambassador and racing driver Maro Engel, who stated, “Our commitment to the craftsmanship of the highest level and our pursuit of emotional product experiences is what has united us since 2004. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG” once again underlines our strong partnership.”
