Minimalism depends on getting the proportions right, not simply removing details. The Sternglas Zirkel X makes that point with a dial organized around circles and a deliberately restrained two-register layout.

Created for the Hamburg brand’s tenth anniversary, the watch uses a 38mm polished 316L stainless steel case and a vertically brushed, gently domed silver dial. A date register sits at 12 o’clock, balanced by a 24-hour display at six. Rather than interrupting the composition, both registers reinforce its central axis. The design draws on Bauhaus-influenced watchmaking while retaining enough visual detail to avoid becoming anonymous.

A double-domed sapphire crystal carries an anti-reflective treatment, while luminous needle hands and a newly adapted Neue DIN typeface prioritize legibility. The Miyota 6P23 quartz movement offers an estimated three-year battery life and accuracy rated at plus or minus 20 seconds per month. Water resistance is 5 ATM, and the waxed brown bridle-leather strap uses quick-release spring bars. The case measures 42mm lug to lug, keeping the watch compact on the wrist.
The first 1,000 pieces receive a commemorative tenth-anniversary caseback before Zirkel X enters the regular Sternglas collection. The watch is available now, listed at €299 in Europe and $399 in the United States.
