Luxury smartwatches have usually justified their prices with materials. The third-generation Garmin MARQ collection puts connectivity and specialized instruments at the center instead, adding phone-free LTE and satellite functions to six distinct models.

Every MARQ 3 uses a 47mm grade 5 titanium case, sapphire lens, ceramic bezel, and 1.4-inch AMOLED display. A nano-molded polymer section provides a path for wireless signals through the metal construction. Built-in speakers, a microphone, LED flashlight, ECG capability, worldwide maps, and address search join up to 18 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. The larger screen and redesigned buttons mark a substantial hardware revision.

The Adventurer, Athlete, Aviator, Commander, Diver, and Golfer tailor their interfaces and straps to different pursuits. The new Diver includes controls designed for scuba activities down to 40 meters, while the Aviator adds flight mapping and the Golfer supplies course tools. Like other advanced outdoor smartwatches, the MARQ is most convincing when its technical functions are actually used. LTE calls, satellite messaging, and SOS require an active inReach plan and compatible coverage; the satellite service has limitations compared with dedicated handheld devices.

The MARQ 3 lineup is available for ordering now. U.S. prices begin at $2,500 for the Athlete and rise to $3,100 for the Aviator, Commander, and Diver. Garmin lists model-specific shipping estimates.
