Garmin’s toughest smartwatch no longer treats premium materials as decoration. The new fēnix 9 Pro gives the series its first titanium case, using nano-molding to bond metal and plastic while trimming thickness.

Available in 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm sizes, Pro models offer AMOLED displays rated at up to 3,000 nits or solar-charging lenses. The 51mm AMOLED version grows to 1.5 inches—15 percent larger than the fēnix 8 display without increasing case diameter. A sapphire lens, leakproof buttons, 40-meter dive rating, and LED flashlight with a new night-vision-preserving green mode maintain the watch’s tool-first character.

Select Pro configurations add inReach connectivity in every case size. With an active plan and suitable coverage, LTE and satellite links support calling, messaging, location sharing, weather retrieval, and interactive SOS functions without a phone, although Garmin notes limitations compared with dedicated inReach devices.

The broader fēnix 9 generation doubles storage to 64GB, accommodating more maps and up to 7,000 songs. A revised map engine pans up to 30 percent faster, while perspective view adds detail near the wearer and farther along the route. Garmin Epic packages multiple activities into a shareable trip record, and new stamina zones and curves extend the training analysis found on Garmin performance watches.
Garmin lists the fēnix 9 from $999.99 with availability now. The fēnix 9 Pro starts at $1,099.99, with ordering scheduled for August 28. The largest AMOLED model reaches 31 days in smartwatch mode; the 51mm solar version claims up to 57 days under Garmin’s specified sunlight conditions.
