IWC Schaffhausen continues its modern reinterpretation of Gérald Genta’s 1970s sports watch with a surprising twist: a fully ceramic Ingenieur. The new Ingenieur Automatic 42 is the first model in the collection to use colored ceramic for both case and integrated bracelet.

The dark olive green zirconium oxide ceramic is combined with an inner titanium ring that anchors the movement and bezel screws, allowing the case to be slimmer than a monobloc design while retaining the scratch resistance and light weight of ceramic. Yellow gold accents on the crown and bezel screws subtly warm the otherwise monochromatic palette.

A textured grid pattern on the dial recalls the bolt‑down bezel of the original Ingenieur SL. Luminescent applied markers and hands stand out against the deep green surface. Underneath, IWC’s in‑house calibre 82110 employs the brand’s Pellaton automatic winding system with ceramic components to reduce wear. It provides a 60‑hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire case back.

The watch measures 42 mm in diameter and is water resistant to 10 bar. A matching dark olive ceramic bracelet with polished and satin‑finished links completes the package. With production limited for 2026, the green ceramic Ingenieur fuses a 1970s design classic with cutting‑edge materials for a statement piece that will likely appeal to collectors and design‑minded enthusiasts alike.
