Converse is most famous for its iconic Chuck Taylor All-Star shoe. The latest release from the shoe company, known as the Sponge Crater, is about as different as can be from the classic Converse Chuck 70. The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Sponge Crater is unlike any other shoe consumers have seen from Converse or any other shoemaker. It features a sculpted foam, mule-cut body with a knit PU Foam CX interior sock. The bottom provides optimal grip with egg crate-style traction.
The main attraction of the Sponge Crater is Converse’s new Crater Foam, which provides optimal cushion and comfort. The PU Foam CX liner is cozy and offers easy entry. The company seeks to reinvent and simplify footwear with the new Sponge Crater. This latest release from Converse is a limited-edition collaboration with Samuel Ross’ brand A-COLD-WALL*, a fashion company known for creating ergonomic, modern designs that are comfortable, performance-oriented, and socially conscious. The Energy at Converse Design Director Matt Sleep explained that the Sponge Crater successfully pushes boundaries. He added that Converse couldn’t have done it without the unique vision from A-COLD-WALL*’s team. The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Sponge Crater hits online stores and shelves on June 23.
