Some sneaker colorways change the mood of a familiar silhouette without altering its underlying design. The New Balance Made in USA 992 “Medusa Green” does just that, combining a deep green upper with brown suede for an outdoors-inspired interpretation of the archival runner.

Part of the Fall/Winter 2026 Made in USA collection overseen by Teddy Santis, the U992BB pairs Medusa Green mesh and tonal panels with a contrasting Thunder Brown mudguard. Cortado tones extend through the sole, while white laces, collar lining, and outlines around the N logos brighten the otherwise subdued palette. Textured materials and the clear division between green and brown give the shoe a more rugged appearance than the model’s familiar gray executions.

The 992 silhouette debuted in 2006 and retains the technical features that made it a longstanding New Balance favorite. ABZORB cushioning at the heel and forefoot absorbs impact, while its layered midsole construction balances cushioning with support. The current Made in USA range continues to emphasize domestic manufacturing and premium materials, with New Balance defining the designation as at least 70 percent domestic value.
The Medusa Green/Thunder Brown 992 is scheduled for October 29, 2026, at $200 through New Balance and select retailers. The colorway adds a distinctive autumnal option without changing the model’s established fit or cushioning platform.
