A-COLD-WALL* and Nike are once again joining forces to release the ACW_NIKE TN98, a sneaker that beautifully marries refinement and abstraction while paying homage to the iconic 1998 Nike Air Max Plus TN. This collaboration is set to drop on Tuesday, September 12th, with global early access available online at a-cold-wall.com at 13:00 BST. Select retailers will follow suit on Thursday, September 21st.
Crafted with elegance in mind, the ACW_NIKE TN98 features a foundation of full-grain leather, designed to age gracefully and develop a unique patina with wear. This subtle textural element adds depth and character to the shoe, elevating it beyond the ordinary. The attention to detail is evident in the concealed ACW* bracket logo beneath a ridged TPU heel plate, as well as the transparent UV dual branding on the tongue. Laser etching adorns the lateral swoosh and compact squares, showcasing ACW*’s dedication to geometry.
To celebrate this release, London-based photographer Gabriel Moses presents a series of surrealist stills inspired by Renaissance tableaus and performance-wear testing centers. These images explore themes of the human physique, stylized movement, and new modes of athleticism, challenging conventional campaign visuals.
The ACW_NIKE TN98 comes in two striking colorways. The Onyx version plays with shadows, revealing and concealing the TN98’s exoskeleton in changing light conditions. The all-black iteration emphasizes stripped-back construction and exposed engineering, drawing inspiration from brutalist design philosophy. In contrast, the all-white Stone palette offers a bright counterpoint, highlighting the shoe’s comfort-focused Nike Air bubble cushioning unit, designed to age gracefully as a nod to our evolving urban environment.
