The Air Force 1 has spent four decades escaping basketball; now Nike is formally pushing it onto a skateboard. The Nike SB Air Force 1 x Yuto Horigome retools the 1982 icon for skate use while giving the two-time Olympic champion a distinctly personal first interpretation.

Light Bone leather is broken up by mesh quarter panels, Iron Grey accents, and a Washed Coral midsole that gives the shoe an intentionally aged look. An encapsulated Nike Air unit remains in the heel for impact cushioning. Horigome adds his cross-feather family crest at the outer heel, lucky number 7 on the heel tab, his name on the Nike SB tongue label, custom sockliners, and an antiqued lace dubrae.

The significance is less about the colorway than the platform. Air Force 1 has long been adopted by skaters informally, but this version places the silhouette inside Nike SB’s performance context rather than treating skateboarding as styling inspiration. Horigome’s involvement gives that transition credibility: his signature Dunk Low helped establish him as one of Nike SB’s most visible contemporary athletes.

The shoe also arrives as skate brands continue revisiting archival court silhouettes; Vans’ Old Skool 36 updates show the same tension between heritage shape and modern use.

The Nike SB Air Force 1 x Yuto is priced at $125, with Nike SNKRS listing availability for September 15.
