A hiking-shoe sole and handwoven Scottish wool seem to belong to different wardrobes. The Merrell x Harris Tweed collection brings them together, placing richly textured cloth on four everyday and trail-derived silhouettes.

The collaboration covers the Jungle Moc, Moab 2 Slide, Cham Redux, and Relay Lace in a shared Dark Walnut palette. Brown leather frames the woven panels, while the official Harris Tweed Orb label identifies the material’s provenance. Genuine Harris Tweed must be handwoven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland from pure new wool under rules protected by law, giving this collection a material story beyond a printed tartan pattern.

Each shoe keeps a recognizable functional foundation. The Jungle Moc x Harris Tweed uses a removable EVA footbed, cushioned midsole, and Merrell Air Cushion in the heel. The Moab 2 Slide retains a Vibram TC5+ outsole, while the Cham Redux combines a FloatMax foam midsole with quick-adjust lacing. The Relay Lace takes a cleaner, sneaker-like approach with full-grain leather alongside the wool.

The result treats outdoor footwear as a vehicle for traditional textile craftsmanship rather than a blank canvas for graphics.

The limited collection is available now, with prices ranging from $130 to $190 depending on the silhouette. Its appeal lies in how the familiar Merrell designs let the fabric’s craftsmanship take center stage.
