While most see the last few weeks of the year as a chance to coast and push work off till “the next year,” Hyundai decided to unveil the new 2024 Kona. This new model year sees the Hyundai Kona in futuristic design with all-terrain in mind. The new Kona’s most notable features are its “Seamless Horizon Lamp” headlights that span the width of the crossover SUV and new pixel graphic-inspired 19-inch alloy wheels.
Like the outgoing model, the 2024 Hyundai Kona will be available in EV, hybrid, ICE, and N-line variants. However, Hyundai stated that it first developed the electric variant before tackling the gasoline and hybrid model, which is a new shift in car development. Usually, automakers work out the ICE before the EV.
The 2024 Kona takes up more real estate by being one inch wider and 5.9 inches longer than the 2023 model. This increase in size will hopefully translate to more legroom inside. Released press photos show the 2024 Kona’s interior sporting a “curve-less” bench seat for the rear passengers. In addition, the dashboard has been updated to feature a curved digital screen, and the shifter has been relocated to the steering column to free up space in the center tunnel. More details on the 2024 Hyundai Kona, such as drivetrain, pricing, and MPGs, are set to be announced in the coming year.
