Nothing sharpens the edge of a badass like a high-gloss black paint job. At least, that’s the idea with the new limited edition Rocket 3 cruiser motorcycles from Triumph. These powerful motorcycles are offered in two trim levels, the Triumph Rocket 3 R Black and Rocket 3 GT Triple Black, each with a low production number of 1,000 models sold worldwide starting April 2021. The Triumph Rocket 3 Limited Edition motorcycle is a rolling brawler using a 165 horsepower 2500cc inline three-cylinder DOHC engine matched to a six-speed gearbox. Triumph states this is the largest engine fitted to a production motorcycle, with the highest rated torque figure in the world at 163 lb.-ft on a bike with a curb weight of around 650 pounds.
Everything on these Triumph Rocket 3 rolling shadows seems to be colored black. The exhaust headers, intake cover, rear frame, footrests, brake pedal, heel guards, clutch, and brake lever are all painted black. The finishing detail on the Triumph Rocket 3 motorcycle is a carbon-fiber front-mounted mudguard. Of the two Triumph Rocket 3 models, the GT Triple Black has more standard features with long-distance traveling in mind. Whichever one you decide to buy, be sure to have “Paint It Black” by the Rolling Stones ready to play.
