Porsche owners, and those who desire to become one, rejoice with new Porsche-designed e-bikes. These licensed electric bicycles are “organically shaped” from carbon fiber into a frame meant to provoke thoughts of the Porsche Taycan. Of course, whether this design element is achieved is left up to the individual. Nevertheless, the 2022 Porsche eBike Sport and eBike Cross offer performance backed by a company known for making quality means of transportation.

Of the two bikes, the higher-tier model is the 2022 Porsche eBike Sport. This electric bike feels most at home on the road in an urban environment. It rolls on new Continental tires providing plenty of grip over the gravel and unpaved roads of everyday life. A Shimano EP-8 electric motor, powered by a 630-Wh battery pack, provides the rider with “powerful acceleration.” Meanwhile, a four-piston brake caliper helps bring the eBike Sport to a stop.

In addition, the Porsche eBike Sport has hidden brake and shifting cables for a streamlined appearance. Moreover, the front and rear lights are integrated and feature smartphone connectivity. The entry-level 2022 Porsche eBike Cross caters to riders who prefer the road less traveled. It uses the same Shimano EP-8 motor tuned to help riders up steep hills with pedal-assisted power.

The Porsche eBike Cross features Magure-MT trail disc brakes and a Shimano XT rear derailleur for quicker gear changes, depending on the terrain. The Crankbrothers seat post is hydraulically adjustable. The eBike Cross offers up to 120mm of travel at the front, thanks to its Fox 34 Performance front forks, and 110 mm at the rear using a Fox Float DPX damper. Both Porsche eBikes are now available online for preorder on the brand’s official website.
