A special-edition GT3 can easily become a paint exercise. The Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport earns more substance by pairing its Alpine references with the six-speed manual gearbox and Lightweight Package.

Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur will build 100 examples for Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland. The new Paint to Sample Plus Valleygreenmetallic finish uses gold metallic particles over a deep green base, while bespoke interior colors continue the mountain theme.

The Lightweight Package brings weight-focused chassis and cabin components, although Porsche substitutes durable forged-aluminum wheels for the magnesium wheels normally included with the package.

The mechanical foundation remains the current 911 GT3, so the appeal is not additional horsepower but specification. Choosing the manual gearbox places the emphasis on the naturally aspirated GT3’s response and driver involvement, while the limited regional production connects the car to Porsche’s hill-climb history and its early years in Gmünd.

Compared with more theatrical limited 911s, the Bergsport is unusually disciplined: color, material, weight, and transmission all point toward the same mountain-road brief.
Porsche premiered the GT3 Bergsport at Arosa ClassicCar on September 3. Production is limited to 100 cars, and it is not offered in the United States; pricing varies by its four European markets.
