Seven years ago, the Onewheel electric skateboard debuted as a Kickstarter project. Now, Future Motion has taken its famed unique personal transportation and redesigned it from the ground up for a new generation. This new model is called the Onewheel GT and is lighter, faster, and more versatile. Starting with its source of power, the Onewheel GT uses a 750W Hypercore hub motor. This motor provides up to three-horsepower allowing riders to reach a top speed of 20 mph for a range of 20 to 32 miles.
New features also include concave footpads for improved comfort and control while providing a better grip for the rider. Future Motion also provides its own Trail Slayer GT threaded tires that wrap around a standard aluminum wheel. Additional standard features include the premium Maghandle Pro handle and the Onewheel App. This app allows riders to personalize the board’s performance, check battery life, and more. For improved safety, the Onewheel GT has new, brighter LED lights with a HighBeam option for improved visibility. Charging time is estimated at 200-minutes, or 90-minutes using the optional GT Hypercharger. Future Motion also announced a secondary Onewheel model called the Pint X, a compact variant of the board offering 18 miles of range and a top speed of 18 mph. Both models are currently available with customizing options and payment plans.
