Texas heat can turn long maturation into an argument between concentration and too much oak. Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon 2026 leans unapologetically toward intensity, bottling the distillery’s hand-selected barrels at 141 proof without dilution or chill filtration.

This is the 12th Cowboy Bourbon release. Master Distiller Donnis Todd selected barrels aged at least six years in the distillery’s steel warehouses in Hye, where prolonged summer heat accelerates interaction between whiskey and American oak. The resulting 70.5-percent-ABV bourbon opens with burnt wood and gun smoke before moving toward dried stone fruit, caramelized sugar, and toasted-marshmallow sweetness.

Garrison Brothers produced 16,000 bottles for 2026, a meaningful increase in reach for a whiskey that remains deliberately limited. The profile also makes an interesting counterpoint to older Kentucky releases such as the Elijah Craig 15-Year Single Barrel: Cowboy achieves its concentration with fewer years but a much more aggressive maturation climate.

Following September allocations at the distillery and online, national availability began October 1 at select U.S. bars, restaurants, and retailers. Garrison Brothers lists the 750ml bottle at a suggested retail price of $249.99.
