Few cars carry more pressure to evolve without losing themselves than the BMW 3 Series. Its eighth generation answers that problem by adopting the Neue Klasse design and digital architecture across both electric and gasoline powertrains, rather than splitting the family into visually unrelated branches.

The 2027 lineup starts with the 330 and 330 xDrive, while the M350 xDrive tops the gasoline range with a 437-hp inline-six and 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It reaches 60 mph in a claimed 3.9 seconds.

The electric BMW i3 50 xDrive uses dual motors for 463 hp, with BMW estimating up to 468 miles of range and 400-kW DC charging capable of adding as much as 208 miles in 10 minutes.

Inside, BMW Panoramic iDrive replaces the familiar instrument cluster arrangement with Panoramic Vision, an available 3D head-up display, and a 17.9-inch central screen running Operating System X.

The exterior follows the same reduction: short overhangs, a sharknose profile, flush door handles, and a horizontal lighting graphic instead of increasingly elaborate surfacing.

The 2027 BMW 3 Series reaches U.S. dealers in the first quarter of 2027. Prices start at $49,900 for the 330, $61,500 for the i3 50 xDrive, and $65,900 for the M350 xDrive, before $1,350 destination.
