A month shy of the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy, Nike has revealed a line of merchandise associated with the movie. The Nike ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Collection features a variety of new movie-themed footwear, apparel, and accessories. Perhaps the biggest highlight of the new drop is the new LeBron 19, a sneaker equipped with a double-chambered Air Max unit in the heel and a Zoom Air forefoot unit. “In designing the LeBron 19, we were definitely guided by what was happening in the film,” Nike Basketball footwear designer Jason Petrie said about the shoe. “We wanted to give LeBron a brand-new feeling that was synonymous with an otherworldly, space-age kind of look.”
Additional footwear available in the collection introduces Looney Tunes to a new generation of fans bringing in colorways and graphic elements that will highlight different characters. Included are three styles of the LeBron 18 Low, which use a split color design to feature some of the most memorable faceoffs in the franchise’s history, including Bugs vs. Marvin the Martian, Tweety Bird vs. Sylvester, and Road Runner vs. Wile. E. Coyote.
On the apparel side of the Nike ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Collection, Nike and LeBron partnered to design the Dri-FIT uniforms that are made from smooth, shiny Durasheen fabric with an engineered print and stitched-down twill logos featuring the two all-star teams: the Tune Squad and the Goon Squad. The Tune Squad varsity jacket incorporates the same premium letter stitching across the chest, while a vibrant, all-over orange print lines the inside. Rounding out the Converse apparel is a roster of Looney Tunes characters assembled on a collection of graphic T-shirts, shorts, and hoodies. The collection will be available in July to correspond with the premiere of the movie on July 16th.
