Vermont distillery WhistlePig is marking the 250th anniversary of the United States with two limited releases that blend tradition and whimsy. The Rye, White & Blue PiggyBank Rye is a 10‑year‑old straight rye bottled at 110 proof and presented in a one‑litre ceramic decanter shaped like a patriotic piggy bank; a cork stopper in the rear end lets drinkers pour from the back. Tasting notes include toasted cinnamon, baked vanilla, cedar, nutmeg and lemon zest. Only a limited number of decanters will be available, each priced at $249.99.

The second release, WhistlePig Declaration Wheat Whiskey, is a 93 percent wheat expression aged twice in American oak barrels and bottled at 86 proof. It features a cracked Liberty Bell topper and comes in a 750 ml bottle priced at $73.99. On the nose and palate the whiskey offers vanilla, orange crème, honey‑wheat bread, sweet cinnamon bread and candied citrus. Both bottles debut on May 20 through select U.S. retailers and via WhistlePig’s online shop, and a portion of proceeds will support veteran charities.

These releases showcase WhistlePig’s irreverent approach to packaging while maintaining serious whiskey credentials. The distillery, known for sourcing high‑quality rye and pioneering finished cask programs, continues to blend playful design with traditional craftsmanship.

Collectors should note that the PiggyBank Rye decanter doubles as a keepsake once emptied, while the Declaration Wheat’s Liberty Bell cap nods to Philadelphia’s role in American independence.
