Gray Whale Spirits, best known for its gin, is expanding its coastal portfolio with a new vodka that reflects the company’s environmental ethos. The Gray Whale Vodka is distilled in small batches from grain and California grapes and contains no additives or added sugar, offering a clean, subtly sweet profile. It’s intended for both cocktails and sipping and will join the brand’s lineup on May 1.

To coincide with the launch, Gray Whale Spirits announced a multi‑year partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, committing to remove 750,000 pounds of trash from beaches over three years. The company will support Surfrider’s initiatives through funding and volunteer events, aligning with its existing efforts to donate a portion of profits to ocean conservation. The collaboration aims to expand Surfrider’s beach cleanups, educational programs and advocacy work.

Co‑founder Marsh Mokhtari describes the vodka as smooth and slightly sweet, thanks to the use of California grapes, and notes that the brand’s distinctive bottle—featuring an illustration of a gray whale migrating along the California coast—will remain a focal point. Gray Whale Spirits has built its reputation on sustainability, and this release underscores that mission.
