Although the recent proliferation of artisan goods and products has received a great deal of populist backlash and loud cries of hipster pretension, it’s hard to deny superior quality when you see it. And fine craftsmanship generally leads to superior quality.

Headquartered in Brooklyn, New York and manufacturing all of its products locally, Grado Labs brings an artisan-like attention to detail and an exceptional dedication to high-fidelity sound to all of its retail audio equipment. The company is positioning its latest release, the PS2000e, as the flagship product in its headphone line.

A unique blend of traditional workmanship and state-of-the-art technology, the PS2000e is the product of two years of research and development on the part of Grado Labs owner and CEO John Grado. However, Mr. Grado didn’t work alone. Three generations of the Grado family contributed to the project, packing more than sixty years of refinement and craftsmanship into a truly unique and refined headphone design.

A perfect marriage of wood and metal, the PS2000e features an inner chamber of hand-carved maple clad in a metal alloy that eliminates ringing and other unwelcome sonic distortion. Add a pair of thick ear pads and a soft leather head-strap and you have set yourself up for a remarkably refined and exceedingly comfortable listening experience. Every part of the PS2000e, from voice coils to wires, is sourced from materials of the very highest grade.
