The First ‘Eternals’ Teaser Trailer Unveils Star-Studded Cast

After living quietly on Earth for centuries, helping to shape and guide mankind’s journey towards advancement, the Eternals must now announce their presence in dramatic fashion.

Following a brief glimpse in early May, Marvel has just revealed a full-length Eternals Teaser Trailer for the film scheduled to hit theaters on November 5th. In addition to being the latest entry in the MCU, Eternals is the first film from Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao since garnering Best Picture and Best Director Oscars for Nomadland earlier this year. The Eternals are a race of immortals who protect the earth against entities known as the Deviants, mankind’s oldest enemies. Eternals rewinds the clock all the way back to the earliest years of the MCU, before Iron Man, before Captain Marvel, and even before Captain America. That’s when a super-sized spaceship carrying a race of advanced extraterrestrial beings descended from the heavens and encountered some of the first people to walk the earth.

And these arriving beings like what they see. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” matter-manipulating Eternal Sersi (Gemma Chan) asks her companion Ikaris (Richard Madden). The group’s leader, Ajak (Salma Hayek) likes their new digs so much that they put down roots in Earth’s soil — roots that have grown for 7,000 years. In the trailer, we hear Ajak say, “Unguided, we have helped them progress, and seen them accomplish wonders. Throughout the years, we have never interfered.” That is, until now. Ajak reveals that the Eternals are about to announce their presence in a big way. That’s because their destruction-minded equivalents, the Deviants, are looking to undermine the planet’s rocky-post Endgame status quo, and it’s going to take the entire line of immortal warriors to keep the world’s balance intact. The film also stars Angelina Jolie as warrior Thena, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, and Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman.
