We Marvel fans always get excited when a new trailer drops, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is no exception. The Ant-Man series has been a blast, and Paul Rudd has qualified himself as a favorite accidental superhero.
Once again, Ant-Man sports an all-star cast of Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly (heart emojis all over), Michelle Pfeiffer (I’d put more heart emojis if word processors had them), Michael Douglas, and Samuel Jackson. This Ant-Man adds the talents of Jonathan Majors, Walton Goggins, and the indelible Bill Murray.
Marvel movies craft unique and unexpected universes, but the Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania trailer takes universe-building to a new level with a quantum universe that might be considered a Star Wars homage. Fascinating new creatures are in the mix, with a feel like walking into the canteen on Tatooine. Of course, Disney does own both the Stars Wars and Marvel universes; it’s why we super fans all have Disney+.
Beyond the gorgeous and fascinating universe, Paul Rudd is the main attraction. An ex-con and dedicated father, his character brings a lot of levity to the Marvel universe. Ant-Man films sit in the middle ground between the more serious Captain Marvel or Black Widow and the brilliantly Taiki Waititi-directed Thor: Love and Thunder silliness. Needless to say, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is a February must-see worthy of a tub of movie theater popcorn and a perfect lead into the start of blockbuster movies season.
