Cyberspace has spent four decades borrowing from William Gibson; now his defining novel gets to borrow the screen back. The first Neuromancer teaser reveals Apple TV’s 10-episode adaptation as a sleek, anxious corporate heist rather than a museum piece for cyberpunk.

Callum Turner plays Case, the damaged hacker pulled into one last job, with Briana Middleton as razor-edged assassin Molly. The ensemble includes Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy. Graham Roland and JD Dillard created the series, and Dillard directs the opening three episodes. Gibson serves as an executive producer, giving the production a direct line to the 1984 novel’s language and world.

The teaser’s appeal lies less in neon than in density: wet streets, clinical interiors, worn technology, and bodies treated as modifiable hardware. That material emphasis gives the adaptation a place within contemporary screen culture without reducing Gibson’s ideas to a familiar retro-future palette. Structuring the story as a corporate theft also supplies forward motion for viewers who have absorbed the genre’s visual vocabulary without reading its source text.

Apple TV will premiere the first two episodes of Neuromancer on January 22, 2027. The remaining eight episodes arrive weekly on Fridays through March 19; an Apple TV subscription costs $12.99 per month.
