Virgil Abloh, the creative director of Louis Vuitton, is famed for his quirky and out-of-the-box designs. One of his latest endeavors involves an elementary school-esque white eraser and a necklace. Introducing the Virgil Abloh x Louis Vuitton Eraser Necklace. Featuring Louis Vuitton’s signature monogrammed leather-wrapped holster which holds a white rectangular eraser, this unique pendant is strung to a silver link-rope chain, with an additional LV charm. According to the brand, the eraser is not an actual rubber eraser, but it looks just like one.
This is not unchartered territory for Abloh as he has taken stationery or office artifacts and elevated them to objects of desire. From the iconic red zip ties and ratchet strap belts that made his personal brand Off-White so famous to his paperclip-shaped ‘Office Supplies’ jewellery collection with Jacob & Co., this sort of thing is par for the course for the controversial designer. The Virgil Abloh x Louis Vuitton Eraser Necklace is part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2021 season and is expected to drop later in the summer.
