A waxed jacket and a well-worn pair of jeans have something important in common: both tend to look more personal with age. The new Barbour x A.P.C. collection builds an entire fall wardrobe around that shared quality.

For their latest collaboration, the British outerwear specialist and the Parisian label have revisited Barbour’s Beaufort and Spey jackets alongside a longer Sugarlump Bedale silhouette. The outerwear uses a newly developed Thornproof waxed cotton informed by Barbour’s archives, with a densely woven base designed to absorb wax and resist the weather. A.P.C. brings its restrained proportions and denim expertise to the other half of the range.

Japanese 14-ounce organic denim appears in jeans and jackets, while tartan shirts, caps, bags, and clogs carry the collaboration beyond coats. The A.P.C. assortment also includes pieces for men and women, but the familiar Beaufort and trucker jacket make the menswear direction especially clear. Rather than treating heritage details as decoration, the collection relies on fabrics intended to develop texture through use.

The capsule is available through both brands’ consumer stores, including the United States.

U.S. pricing includes $350 for the tartan shirt and $525 for the denim trucker jacket; prices vary across the larger outerwear and accessory range.
