Should you ever find yourself seated on the Iron Throne, make like Ned Stark and crack open a bottle of Game Of Thrones Chardonnay. As the official wine of the wildly popular TV and book series, the collection of three varieties of Game Of Thrones wine is the brainchild of grape grower Bob Cabral, a fourth generation Californian winemaker, who was inspired by the characters and themes of the show.

Game Of Thrones wines are offered in Red Blend, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.

The Red Blend takes the crown of the Seven Kingdoms, uncorking a dry, robust red that is perfect for meat and roast feasts or the occasional blackbird pie. It’s a blend of eight different red varietals such as Tempranillo, Syrah, and Petite Sirah. Grapes are soaked in a three-day cold process prior to fermentation to deliver a tasty blend of brambly blackberry, rich black cherry, deep vanilla, and cocoa aromas. Hints of leather and spice are present in the juicy black fruits with a toasty, vanilla essence finish.

The Game Of Thrones Chardonnay is a graceful blend of 90 percent Chardonnay and 10 percent Riesling expressed in the stone fruit and white blossom blend. A creamy palate of tangerines, apricots, Meyer lemon, spices, and honey balances out the acidity for an oaky, sophisticated flavor.

Cabral pulled out all the stops with the Cabernet Sauvignon that rules the kingdoms. Proving that winter is truly coming, the wine is derived from Napa Valley grapes, from a fermentation process completed in the winter following harvest. Each lot of this wine has been aged separately with each ingredient carefully selected for its individual flavor profile in the handcrafted blend. Deep blackcurrants, briar, and Tahitian vanilla interplay with smooth cocoa tannins for an immensely pleasurable experience.
