A watch can lose its strap without losing its identity. Casio’s CRW-002 compresses the familiar A168 into a working ring, retaining the rectangular display, printed function labels, and even the suggestion of a metal bracelet around the finger.

The new model extends the idea of the digital ring watch through unusually literal miniaturization. Metal injection molding reproduces the case and band geometry in stainless steel, while a glossy case contrasts with the matte band. The silver version measures 25.2 by 18.2 by 6.2mm and uses mineral glass.

Inside, a module roughly one-tenth the size of a conventional watch module drives a six-digit display. Three buttons control dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, and 12- or 24-hour timekeeping. An LED backlight handles visibility, while a separate pulsing light can mark a chosen time or the top of the hour. It is a visual flourish rather than an audible reminder.

The ring fits a U.S. size 10.5 finger, with two included spacers accommodating smaller sizes. Its replaceable battery is rated for approximately two years, and water resistance is intended for daily use.

The silver CRW-002 costs $135; the gold-tone version costs $155. U.S. availability is planned through Casio, select retailers, and the G-SHOCK Soho store.
