A watch strap rarely does more than keep the watch attached. The Casio Pro Trek PRJ-B001EX-1 tturns its reversible cloth band into storage, giving the compact outdoor watch a practical feature beyond timekeeping. Integrated compartments hold small items such as keys and cash, while the band can wrap around the watch for protection when it is not being worn.
The concept is more considered than a pocket sewn onto a conventional strap. Its predominantly black exterior reverses to reveal olive panels and orange accents, and a carabiner allows the watch to hang from a backpack or inside a tent. The arrangement effectively converts the band into a compact carrying case without adding a separate accessory.
Built on Casio’s PRJ-B001 platform, the watch measures 50.3 by 46mm and 13.6mm thick, with a weight of 1.8 ounces. Key resin components use bio-based material, while the rotary guard bezel turns to conceal the pushers during everyday wear or expose them for easier operation. Tough Solar charging, Bluetooth-enabled automatic time adjustment, world time, five daily alarms, and Casio’s Time & Place function provide the practical foundation expected of a modern outdoor watch. Pressing a button records the current date, time, and location within the Casio Watches app.
The specification also includes 100-meter water resistance, operation at temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, mineral glass, Neobrite-coated hands, and dual LED illumination. Casio has scheduled the PRJ-B001EX-1 for an August 2026 release in Japan at ¥33,000. U.S. pricing and availability remain unconfirmed.
