Dutch-based company Brekr unveiled a new model in its electric mobility lineup dubbed the Model F. This new model is classified as an e-bike and is the first Brekr model to feature functional pedals. While the Model F operates like an electric bicycle, it offers the styling of a moped.
The Model F’s moped styling is thanks to the design featuring a main strut running down the length of the frame from the head tube to the rear axle. This design language stays in sync with Brekr’s Model B electric moped. However, the Brekr Model F stands out with a mini-bike-styled rear bench seat supported by a tubular frame. It seems this e-bike takes the best from different classifications to build a happy medium of transportation.
The Brekr Model F features custom 22-inch wheels wrapped in sizable rubber. As a result, these fat tires help absorb the bumps and road imperfections for ride comfort as a substitution for conventional suspension. In addition, there is a built-in shock absorber in the e-bike’s saddle. Moreover, the Model F electric bike does not use traditional gears. Instead, it uses a Bafang hub motor with an integrated two-speed automatic transmission allowing the rider to select between high and low gear.
Regarding speed, the Brekr Model F is restricted by Europe’s e-bike laws, limiting it to a top speed of 15.5 mph. However, Brekr offers two battery options, 540 and 700 Wh, with an estimated range of 21-37 miles under real-world conditions. According to Brekr, the Model F can reach as high as 62 miles in ideal conditions.
Currently, Brekr is accepting pre-orders for one of the first 20 Model F Launch Editions. However, these limited-edition variants are only available in the Netherlands. But, after the Launch Edition comes the First Edition variant, which will be available in Germany and Belgium. Other countries looking to order a Brekr Model F can order through their respected local dealer networks.
