We love everything alcohol related, but cocktails have always been something out of our grasp compared to our beloved pint of Guinness or shot of Absolut. We’ve convinced ourselves that the colorful drinks aren’t macho enough for our manly disposition, but it’s mostly because we have no clue how to mix them.
Now, having said that, we think the Bartesian, a cocktail mixing machine based on Nespresso-style capsule technology, can really make cocktails a button-push away. All we have to do is supply the machine with the basic spirits (vodka, rum, tequila, gin) and pop in a Bartesian capsule that contains the remaining ingredients. In the beginning, the Bartesian will only come with six formulas (Sex on the Beach, Cosmopolitan Margarita, Bartesian Breeze, Uptown Rocks, and Zest Martini), but the founders are planning to rapidly expand their options in the future. The team has also been considerate enough to include the iconic cocktail shaker into the Bartesian experience so that you can shake it like a pro in front of your significant other and pretend as if you’ve done all the hard work.
The Bartesian is presently in the funding stage of its Kickstarter campaign, but with all the buzz going around it seems they won’t have any trouble reaching their $100,000 goal.
