Boutique Italian watchmakers Unimatic and Massena LAB are closing out 2022 by releasing a pair of limited-edition Modello Quattros; the U4S-BRZ-ML and U4S-BRZ-MLL. The styling recalls the patinated, one-of-one William Tell watch the collaborators made for the TimeForArt charity auction.

This time, Unimatic and Massena LAB gave the bronze treatment to the Modello Quattro’s newly-slimmed 12.4mm case. The military-inspired watches measure 49mm lug-to-lug and feature an oversized fixed bezel with chunky hands and hour markers on the dial.

The octopus engraved on the Unimatic x Massena LAB Modello Quattro U4S-BRZ-ML’s titanium caseback offers serious Jules Verne vibes. The matte olive face and band are an excellent complement to the bronze case. Meanwhile, what the BRZ-MLL lacks in cephalopodic imagery, it makes up for in rugged good looks. The face sports a diagonal tapisserie pattern with a distressed leather band that adds to the military feel.

Both watches feature the Sellita SW200-1 movement, but precision isn’t necessarily the point for these Modello Quattros. All eyes will be on the bronze casing and the natural, unique patina it’ll develop after years of faithful use. Horophiles will need to act quickly: the Massena LAB site has only 400 BRZ-MLs and 99 BRZ-MLLs on offer, with pricing set at $895 and $995, respectively
