A military commission rarely becomes a civilian watch without losing some of its purpose. The Ianos Amfivios keeps nearly all of the hardware developed for Greece’s Underwater Demolition Command, removing the unit insignia and deep-blue dial while retaining the unusual architecture underneath.
The 41mm case, bezel, crown, and buckle are made from shot-blasted Grade 2 titanium, keeping weight down while providing corrosion resistance for actual water use.
A domed sapphire crystal sits above a matte-black dial with three-dimensional luminous markers, a luminous date window at 12 o’clock, and small seconds. The unidirectional 120-click countdown bezel is also titanium, while water resistance is rated to 300 meters.
Inside, a Swiss Sellita SW360-1 automatic runs at 4Hz with 31 jewels and roughly 56 hours of reserve. The monobloc caseback incorporates fixed strap bars and a recessed channel for the supplied single-pass rubber strap, an approach inherited directly from the OYK project. It is an intentionally specialized alternative within the broader Ianos diver family.
The Amfivios costs CHF 2,050 (apprximately $2,465 USD) before taxes. The first 100 numbered watches went to existing clients; 200 non-numbered examples from the initial civilian batch are scheduled to become available, with further production dependent on demand.
