Travel watches often default to familiar blue-and-red shorthand. Timex takes a moodier route with the latest Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT, framing its black dial with a maroon-and-black 24-hour bezel and punctuating the case with a red anodized crown, yellow seconds hand, and red-and-white GMT hand.
Reference TW2Y93500 is a color-driven extension rather than a new mechanical platform. Its brushed and polished stainless-steel case measures 41.5mm across, 48mm lug to lug, and 14mm thick. Inside, the 24-jewel NH34 automatic GMT movement drives an independently readable 24-hour hand for tracking a second time zone. A unidirectional ratcheting top ring adds another point of reference.
The double-domed K1 mineral crystal receives an anti-reflective coating, while luminous hands and markers, a 3 o’clock date window, and an exhibition caseback round out the dial-side details. Within the broader Waterbury collection, the tool-free removable bracelet links, quick-release spring bars, and butterfly clasp are especially practical touches. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters.
The launch follows the recent automatic day-date, giving the same heritage line a larger, travel-focused counterpart.
