A helium escape valve is usually a clue that a dive watch is taking the genre seriously. The Timex Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic brings that hardware to a comparatively accessible automatic, expanding Timex’s Deepwater family with a larger, more technical option.
The stainless-steel case measures 44mm across, 51mm lug to lug, and 15.5mm thick. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the vertically brushed dial, while a unidirectional ceramic bezel carries Super-LumiNova markings. The automatic helium escape valve sits near 10 o’clock, complemented by a screw-down crown, screw-on caseback, and 200 meters of water resistance.
Inside is a 21-jewel Miyota automatic movement with approximately 40 hours of power reserve. Timex offers the watch on either an HNBR rubber strap or stainless-steel bracelet with quick-release spring bars.
The specification puts it above the smaller quartz Deepwater Arctic while staying well below the price of the Swiss-powered Timex Atelier Marine M1a.
The Deepwater Meridian 200 HEV Automatic is available now through Timex. The rubber-strap version starts at $469, while the stainless-steel bracelet model is $499.
