Timex has expanded its Waterbury Heritage collection with its first automatic day-date, giving the historically styled line a more useful everyday complication. The Waterbury Heritage Automatic keeps the proportions restrained at 39mm while moving beyond the simpler quartz and three-hand formats that populate much of the collection.
Inside is a Japanese Miyota 8205 self-winding movement displaying both day and date at 3 o’clock. The stainless-steel case has an exhibition back, while a double-domed K1 mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating sits over a glossy enamel dial. Luminous hands and markers improve low-light readability, and the steel bracelet uses quick-release spring bars, tool-free adjustable links, and a butterfly clasp.
The combination makes this a dressier counterpoint to the 41mm quartz Waterbury Ace, but without abandoning Timex’s accessible positioning.
The 39mm diameter also lands in a versatile range for an automatic day-date, and the display back gives the Miyota movement some visual presence even if it is fundamentally a workhorse caliber.
Timex offers the Waterbury Heritage Automatic in multiple dial and bracelet treatments. The blue-dial stainless-steel reference is available now in the U.S. for $449.
