TAG Heuer has given the Carrera Chronograph Sport a meaningful ergonomic reset. The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Sport moves the bezel-equipped model from the 44mm format introduced in 2020 to a 42mm steel case, preserving the modern racing character while making the watch noticeably less imposing.

The case is 14.2mm thick and water-resistant to 100 meters, with a fixed ceramic bezel and sapphire caseback. TAG Heuer offers five references: black opaline, blue, teal green, and silver panda dials on an H-shaped steel bracelet, plus a second blue version on perforated brown calfskin.

The bracelet models add an easy-link adjustment system for tool-free sizing. Compared with the outgoing 44mm generation, the revised proportions are the most important change; the Carrera Chronograph Sport remains visually and functionally distinct from TAG Heuer’s smaller, bezel-free 39mm Glassbox chronographs.

Inside is the manufacture TH20-00 automatic chronograph, an evolution of the Heuer 02. The movement runs at 4Hz, uses a column wheel and vertical clutch, winds bidirectionally, and delivers an 80-hour power reserve. That keeps the mechanical formula familiar while the case redesign addresses the part of the previous Sport that most clearly separated it from the rest of today’s Carrera range: sheer size.
The update also reconnects the Sport more closely with the Carrera’s original purpose. Jack Heuer introduced the Carrera in 1963 around clear, at-a-glance timing for drivers; the new model keeps the external racing bezel and contemporary tri-compax layout without carrying over the 44mm footprint of the 2020 version.
The four steel-bracelet references are $6,850, while the blue model on perforated leather is $6,650.
