Ultra‑thin watchmaking is one of the few areas where aesthetics and engineering are inseparable, and Piaget has long been one of its champions. The maison’s latest collaboration with Hong Kong‑based watch retailer Wristcheck revisits that heritage through a limited‑edition Altiplano Ultimate Automatic.

Based on the 910P movement, the watch measures 41 mm in diameter and just 4.3 mm thick, achieved by integrating the movement into the case structure. The dial‑side layout exposes 238 components, including a peripheral winding rotor that floats around the edge, preserving the open view.

Wristcheck’s influence appears in a restrained palette of blue accents. The screws, hands, hour marker ring and the peripheral rotor have been treated in the retailer’s signature hue, adding pops of color against the monochrome white gold. The caseback bears double engraving: Piaget’s crest and the Wristcheck logo. A deep blue calfskin strap echoes the dial accents. Beyond aesthetics, the Altiplano’s movement harks back to the maison’s pioneering 9P (1957) and 12P (1960) calibers, and in 2021 the 910P won the Mechanical Exception prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
Only 30 pieces of the Piaget x Wristcheck Altiplano Ultimate Automatic will be produced, each priced around US$46,300 and available exclusively through select Piaget boutiques and Wristcheck’s online platform. For collectors who appreciate understated details and horological innovation, this collaboration offers a chance to own a piece of ultra‑thin history accented in an unexpected shade of blue.
