The truth is now considerably easier to assemble. The LEGO Ideas The X-Files set turns the series’ fluorescent-lit paranoia into a 1,478-piece display build, pairing Fox Mulder’s basement office with a separate woodland scene and hovering UFO.

Based on Brent Waller’s winning entry in the LEGO Ideas ’90s Nostalgia Challenge, the finished set favors details that reward viewers who understand the significance of a frog, a bee, or a certain wall poster. Mulder’s office includes a removable desk section that opens the interior for closer inspection, while the forest and UFO can be displayed independently.

Eight minifigures cover much of the show’s essential cast and stranger mythology: Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, the Flukeman, and a gray alien. Small accessories and visual references help distinguish the model from more generic adult-oriented LEGO display builds.

When combined, the office, woodland, and UFO measure over 12 inches high and 9 inches wide and deep. Buyers who purchase the set between August 1 and August 10 also receive the 221-piece Scully’s Lab set while supplies last. It recreates the FBI National Academy classroom lab and includes Scully in a lab coat and scrubs.
