Electric bike manufacturer CAKE and premium EV automaker Polestar have joined forces to create a limited edition e-bike. This new model is based on the CAKE Makka dressed in a Sky Blue that matches the Polestar 6 roadster. The CAKE Makka Polestar Edition aims to be a welcome sidekick to the electric car of the same name.
The CAKE Makka Polestar features many of the same components as the stock variant. That includes an aluminum frame housing a 3.6-kW electric motor and a removable 1.5-kWh battery pack. The street-legal moped sits on a set of 14-inch wheels and produces 44 lb.-ft of torque to push the bike and rider to a top speed of 28 mph. The estimated range is 34 miles in the city.
To handle the demands of street legal riding, the CAKE Makka features bespoke rear shocks from Ohlins. Other features include an LED headlight, a rear carrier for storing cargo, and disc brakes. Moreover, the brakes are aided by an Electronic Braking System, which works as a regenerative braking system to help charge the battery. Total charge time is estimated at three hours.
Regarding dimensions, the CAKE Makka Polestar edition stands at an adjustable seat height of 31 inches. Its wheelbase measures nearly 48 inches and tips the scales with a dry weight of 130 pounds. Moreover, CAKE rates the electric moped’s max payload at 540 pounds, which includes the bike, battery, rider, passenger, and carry-on items. The Polestar edition electric moped can be purchased from CAKE, which also handles the delivery.
