Audi announces a new nameplate for the current e-Tron SUV and Sportback for the 2024 model year. When they become available next year, these models will be officially named the 2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron in the brand’s EV lineup. In addition to a new name, the Q8 e-Tron received styling and performance updates, including extended ranges and larger batteries.
For 2024, the Audi Q8 e-Tron gains a facelift that adds black accents around its LED headlights with a revised front grille and larger air dams. At the back, the SUV’s rear diffuser has been restyled. In addition, Audi claims the 2024 Q8 e-Tron SUV and Sportback offer better aerodynamics with a lower drag coefficient than the current model. Evidence of this can be seen in the vehicle’s self-sealing system around the front grille working in conjunction with electric shutters to close and redirect airflow.
Inside, the 2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron features new trim options like light brown walnut wood or sustainable materials partially made from recycled PET bottles. In addition, the optional sports seats feature Dinamica microfibre made from up to 45 percent polyester fibers manufactured from recycled PET bottles, used textiles, and fiber residue. Other physical changes to the interior include Audi’s MMI touch response operating system displayed on two large screens, which does away with many analog buttons.
Under the hood, the most significant change for the Q8 e-Tron is its battery pack capacity increased from 69 to 89-kWh. As a result, the Q8 50 e-Tron battery range increases from 212 to 307 miles for the SUV and 316 miles for the Sportback variant (using the WLTP cycle). In addition, the higher tier Q8 55 e-Tron and SQ8 also receive higher capacity battery packs and feature 170-kW DC charging. Pricing for the 2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron is scheduled to be announced in late November and will be available in US dealers by spring 2023.
