Caterham is using its expansion in the U.S. market as an opportunity to reinterpret its most iconic model with a distinctly regional lens. The Seven Miami Special Edition takes the familiar formula of the Seven R and overlays it with a vivid, Art Deco-inspired color scheme, finished in Aqua with pink and white accents that reference the architecture and visual language of Miami. It is a deliberate departure from the brand’s typically restrained palette, yet the underlying ethos remains unchanged.

Beneath the bright exterior, the car retains the mechanical purity that defines the Seven lineage. A naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine produces 210 bhp and 152 lb-ft of torque, delivering a 0–60 mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 136 mph.

Power is routed through a five-speed manual gearbox to a limited-slip differential, while Avon ZZS tires and a lightweight chassis ensure the car’s characteristically direct and communicative handling. As with other track-focused variants, the emphasis is less on outright numbers and more on driver engagement.

The interior introduces subtle thematic details without overwhelming the minimalist layout. Bespoke embroidery and Miami-inspired graphics provide context for the edition, reinforcing its identity while preserving the stripped-down environment expected of a Caterham. The result is a car that balances expressive design with functional restraint.

Production is limited to just 12 examples, with 10 allocated to the U.S., positioning the Miami Special Edition as both a collectible and a statement of intent. Caterham’s decision to localize its design language suggests a broader strategy to connect with new audiences while maintaining the mechanical simplicity that has long defined the Seven.
