We have been waiting four long years for Ram to debut this truck. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was first announced as a concept in 2016 at the Texas State Fair. Since then, we’ve only gotten rumors and teasers about what the production version was going to look like with the phrase “Raptor hunter” being thrown around. Now it’s finally here, and what Ram has delivered is being claimed as the fastest and most powerful production pickup truck in the world, according to FCA.

A 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 making a ridiculous 702 horsepower is all the proof Ram needs to support its TRX claim. Yes, it is the same engine featured in Dodge’s prince of power, the Hellcat. Channeling all that power to an off-road-focused four-wheel-drive system is an eight-speed transmission. Unlike most modern Ram trucks, the TRX does not have a dial-shifter and instead has a “performance floor shifter.” With this set-up, the Ram TRX can hit 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and charge down the quarter-mile in under 13 seconds. That is an impressive time for truck rolling on factory 35-inch tires and two and half-inch lift. All these power and go-fast parts come at a cost with the TRX starting price at $69,995 that can q`uickly find itself flirting with the $100k mark after options and taxes have been added. Still, a pretty exciting truck that will probably prompt Ford Performance to look at the Raptor and design a twin-turbo response.
