Bring a Trailer is currently auctioning off a unique vintage Willys truck. This 1955 Willys pickup is a classic on paper only, now. Underneath the 65-year old post-war body design beats the heart, mind, and chassis from a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. It’s a modern Jeep in Willys clothing. This restomod pickup truck is rolling thanks to the masterminds at Fueled Toyz of Taber, Alberta. A Canadian Willys truck that currently lives in Portland, Oregon. According to Bring a Trailer, customs documentation and a clean Idaho title are included with the vehicle.

Under the copper metallic painted hood is the Wrangler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 280 horsepower. Fueled Toyz added a RIPP supercharger to add a little more grunt to this old soul. Modern power is a vast improvement over the Willys original six-cylinder flathead engine that produced 115 hp. It uses the Wrangler’s five-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case to rotate a set of 17-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch Toyo C/T Open Country tires. A Rock Krawler long-arm kit helps this resto-truck mountain goat over wild terrain.

Fueled Toyz did not try to hide the fact that this is no longer your great-grandfather’s Willys truck. The truck features Wrangler door handles, mirrors, power-retractable side steps, a widened body, and Poison Spider bumpers. The interior is what you’d find in a 2014 Wrangler Unlimited as if they popped the body over it and the drivetrain like a custom RC car. However, Cascade Vans and Interiors of Calgary gave the Willys a custom distressed brown and black leather interior that matches the headliner, door panels, and upper console. At the time of this publication, the 1955 Willys restomod has a current bid of $55,000 with less than two days left to bid. Roughly the same price you’d see at a dealership for a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, taxes included.
