Rally timing leaves little room for decorative ambiguity. The STOWA Chrono WRC Stage 1 carries that clarity into a 44mm automatic chronograph, using championship orange only where elapsed seconds and minutes need to be found quickly.

The Stage 1 is STOWA’s second watch created as official timekeeping partner of the FIA World Rally Championship. A layered gray and anthracite dial frames a central orange chronograph seconds hand and a matching 30-minute counter. White Arabic numerals, black hands, and blue-glowing BGW9 Super-LumiNova handle ordinary time, keeping the competition functions visually separate.

A brushed stainless-steel case measures 16mm thick and 49mm lug to lug, proportions that suit the motorsport brief more than formal understatement. Sapphire crystal, 10 ATM water resistance, and a choice of black silicone or steel bracelet give the watch everyday durability.
Inside, the top-grade Sellita SW510 automatic movement runs the two-register display. A black-coated steel version adds a more technical finish without changing the mechanical package, much like other motorsport-derived chronographs use color to organize information rather than decorate it.
STOWA prices both steel and black versions at €2,990 including German VAT. Orders are open, with current production quoted at 36 to 37 days.
