German tuner and famous Porsche enhancer Ruf recently unveiled its most powerful model yet during the 2023 Monterey Car Week. This new model builds on the CTR3, first introduced in 2007. Its predecessor, the CTR3 Clubsport, debuted in 2012. This mid-engine supercar’s third and latest evolution is the Ruf CTR3 Evo.

To say the Ruf CTR3 Evo is modified is an understatement. Every aspect of the vehicle has been upgraded, starting with the lightweight wide stance bodywork made using Kevlar composite. Ruf-tuned Porsches have a custom look that’s familiar and foreign at the same time. The rear tail lights are redesigned into round, classic units under an “automatically deploying” rear wing and a carbon fiber rear diffuser with quad exhaust pipes. Don’t bother looking out the back window because all you’ll see is the engine cover.

Under the cover is a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine tuned to produce 789 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of torque. Managing the power output is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, but Ruf offers a manual transmission on the options list. Stopping is done by a massive set of 15-inch carbon-ceramic brakes with yellow six-piston calipers peeking behind 20-inch five-spoke powder blue wheels wrapped in Michelin rubber. The suspension consists of McPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear featuring horizontally opposed coilovers. Ruf did not disclose performance specs on the CTR3 Evo, but based on the engine output figures, it’s a safe bet this car will stay glued to the racing line and set fire to lap times.
