It’s fascinating what yelling on the internet can accomplish. The results may vary from bad to utterly annoying, but in this instance, it is all good. Last year Polestar unveiled a Polestar 2 concept dubbed the “Beast” at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The public’s reception of the concept car was so positive that Polestar decided to turn it into a limited-production vehicle. The special edition production model is called the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270.
As the name suggests, the car is limited to only 270 units for the European, North American, and Chinese markets. The BST Edition 270 stays true to the concept design minus a slightly less aggressive style front bumper. However, Polestar kept the redesigned front grille, side sills, and aerodynamic extensions. Buyers can option their Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 in either Thunder or Snow-white paint with an optional matte-black stripe. In addition, there is an optional Battleship Grey satin finish wrap available. Gold-painted details are seen in the car’s brake calipers, damper elements, valve caps, and interior seat belts.
A 78-kWh battery pack supplies the car’s dual-motor layout to produce a combined output of 470-hp and 501.5 lb.-ft of torque. The performance EV is fitted with bespoke Ohlins 2-way adjustable dampers, stiffer springs, and a front strut bar for improved handling. Moreover, the suspension is lowered by one inch, in addition to four-piston Brembo brake calipers lurking behind a set of 21-inch black-painted alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero rubber. Those interested in the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 can order theirs directly from the website. First deliveries are expected to arrive at the end of 2022.
