ORIS has made its annual Hölstein Edition something collectors anticipate as much for its personality as its scarcity. The Hölstein Edition 2026 continues that tradition, arriving on the brand’s founding day with a design that balances the refined character of the newly reimagined Artelier collection with the playful touches that have become a signature of these commemorative releases.

Housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case, the watch appears understated at first glance. A silver-opaline dial, applied numerals, and blued hands reinforce the Artelier line’s classically elegant aesthetic. Closer inspection reveals the model’s most intriguing detail: a mirrored small-seconds display that introduces an unexpected sense of symmetry and visual intrigue without disrupting the dial’s overall restraint. It is the sort of subtle design flourish that rewards prolonged viewing rather than demanding attention.

Powering the watch is ORIS’s in-house Calibre 403, a manually wound movement that reflects the brand’s ongoing investment in practical mechanical watchmaking. The movement offers a five-day power reserve and a recommended 10-year service interval, prioritizing long-term reliability as much as technical specification. While many limited editions focus primarily on aesthetics, the Hölstein Edition 2026 places equal emphasis on what lies beneath the dial.

The playful side of the watch is reserved for the caseback, where an iridescent engraving of the ORIS Bear makes an appearance. The mascot has become a recurring symbol within the Hölstein series, serving as a reminder that ORIS often approaches watchmaking with a lighter touch than many of its Swiss peers.
Limited to 250 individually numbered pieces, the Hölstein Edition 2026 is less about radical innovation and more about celebrating the qualities that have earned ORIS its loyal following: thoughtful design, robust in-house mechanics, and a willingness to inject a bit of personality into traditional Swiss watchmaking.
