New York City-based watch website and e-commerce site HODINKEE is again partnering with Swiss watchmaker brand Oris to launch the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Caliber 400 Limited Edition for HODINKEE. As its name suggests, the watch is powered by Oris’s in-house caliber 400 in a trim 38m case, the first time it has been used in a steel Divers Sixty-Five. This diminutive dive watch has a matte greyish green dial and lighter green lume filled oversized markers. The shield-shaped markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock are an homage to an earlier version of the Oris logo, and the typeface of the brand’s wordmark is similarly based on what it would have looked like in the 1960s. It has a spare, blocky look to it that leaves a very different impression than the more modern font used throughout the rest of the current Oris lineup. Oris and HODINKEE have elected to go with a no-date setup here as well, which is likely to make hardcore Oris enthusiasts very happy.
Noteworthy features of the Oris Divers Sixty-Five include a five-day power reserve, 10-year service interval, and impressive decade-long warranty. Like other Divers Sixty-Five watches, this new model has 100 meters of water resistance, which is actually plenty for recreational diving, not to mention everyday activities that might only require “splash proof” levels of resistance. Limited to 400 pieces, Hodinkee is selling the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Caliber 400 on an integrated steel bracelet.
