A few weeks ago, Mercedes-AMG celebrated its 55th anniversary. The party is still raging as Mercedes-AMG has announced a special trim package for the AMG GT 63 S E dubbed “the Performance F1 Edition.” This new performance package is only for the European market and adds $25k to the vehicle’s total MSRP.
For your money, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition includes several appearance packages rolled into one with additional unique features. First, it adds the AMG Aerodynamic package, including a rear diffuser, front splitter, air deflectors, and a rear wing dressed in high-gloss black paint. Second, AMG’s Night and Night II appearance packages add further black accents like limo-tint on the glass and black chrome exhaust tips. Finally, the Performance F1 Package includes an exclusive exterior color seen in press photos – a Manufaktur Alpine Gray matched with AMG lettering graphics that fade from gray to black.
The AMG GT 63 S E Performance F1 Package interior is appointed in black Nappa leather upholstery and held together with red stitching. Other red accents include seat belts and red-infused carbon fiber trim. Lastly, the car’s floor mats wear a special edition badge to signify the vehicle’s exclusivity.
In terms of actual performance, the drivetrain remains unchanged. However, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E features a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with a 6.1-kWh battery pack to power a rear-mounted electric motor. The combined output is rated at 831-hp and a whopping 1,032 lb.-ft of torque. That translates to a top speed of 196 mph and can travel 7.5-miles using only battery power.
